It was sad to see what terrible condition it was in – cracks in the substructure, broken and missing pieces, the veneer coming apart, all the ormolu very dull, as was the marble top scratched and dull.

When I called Christie’s antique furniture department to find out where I might be able to get it restored, I was worried whether or not I could find someone to restore it – as it should be restored.

The commode has been in m family for a long time, and I felt responsible to take care of it properly. Meeting you and your team gave me a lot of confidence. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable.
